Indira Nagar, Lucknow

Indira Nagar (Hindi: इंदिरा नगर )(Urdu: اندرا نگر) is a residential posh area in Lucknow. It was developed by U.P. Housing Board (Awas Vikas) and is the largest colony in Asia. Indira Nagar was a well planned colony, divided into four blocks, namely, A-Block, B-Block, C-Block, and D-Block but now has several sectors.

Bhootnath is the main market in this locality. Other markets are Lekhraj market,Amrapali market, Sahara Shopping Centre,Munshi Pulia, Meena Market Nagina Plaza Amrapali etc. There are good restaurants like Aryan's, Babian's, Bikanerwala, Chandrakala Tunday Kababi etc. Besides there is a Nescafe joint and Café Coffee Day. Besides eating joints, it has a large number of bank branches, guest houses, banquet halls and hospitals, chemists, construction material shops at Faizabad Main Road, schools and various government offices and utilities.

Indira Nagar has a number of well developed jogging parks. Aurobindo park and Swarn Jayanti are well known parks developed by Avas Vikas.

All the roads in this locality are perpendicular and whole colony is very well connected by auto rickshaws. Another popular medium are manual rickshaws. The new shopping malls are opened here with shops like Spencer's , Bigbaazar. The Fastfood Outlets like Domino's. The famous restaurant is Punjabi Chula situated in middle of Bhootnath market. The famous sweet shops are Kanchan in A Block Crossing. Police station in Ghazipur. The roads in Indira Nagar are developed. This colony has many gardens & parks.The famous schools like St. Domnic in Bhootnath Market, CMS in A-Block and St Mary's in D-Block.
